Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 4 tsp
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- molasses - 4 Tbsp
- warm water - 4 c
- white flour - 5 c
- rye meal - 6 c
- dry yeast or 5 tsp - 2 pkg
How to make rye bread:
Mix all ingredients together to make a stiff dough. Knead on floured board. Let rise until doubled. Put into 3 greased loaf pans. Let rise until about doubled. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Grains, Yeast breads.
