Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1 c
  • sifted powdered sugar - 1/2 c
  • finely chopped nuts - 3/4 c

How to make russian tea cakes:

Heat oven to 400°. Mix butter, sugar and vanilla; stir flour, salt and nuts together. Mix with mixer or hands. Form 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while hot. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar again. Store in airtight container.
