Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 4 item
  • brown sugar
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • evaporated milk - 3 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • confectioners sugar - 1/2 c
  • rum - 1/3 c
  • yellow cake mix - 1 pkg
  • chopped pecans or walnuts - 1 c
  • instant vanilla pudding - 1 pkg
  • dark rum - 1/2 c

How to make rum cake:

Glaze:1/2 c. brown sugar3 Tbsp. evaporated milk1/4 c. butter1/3 c. rum1/2 c. confectioners sugar Mix together cake mix, pudding, eggs, water, dark rum and oil. Mix together 2 minutes. Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan. Sprinkle pecans or walnuts in bottom of pan. Pour into pan; bake at 350° for 1 hour. Cool in pan; invert onto plate. Prick top of cake and drip glaze over top and sides. Allow cake to absorb glaze.

Glaze: Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil. Stir in confectioners sugar.
