Roman apple cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- butter or oleo
- canned apples - 4 sliced
How to make roman apple cake:
Topping:2 Tbsp. butter or oleo1 c. brown sugar2 Tbsp. flour2 tsp. cinnamon Combine ingredients for batter in order listed. (May also add raisins to batter with apples.) Pour into 8-inch square pan. Set aside.Mix topping ingredients well and sprinkle over batter if desired. Bake in a 350° oven until toothpick comes out clean. Very tasty served warm with ice cream with caramel over ice cream.
