Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- stick butter - 1 item
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- tepid water - 1/2 c
How to make rolls:
Dissolve yeast in tepid water. Cream Crisco and sugar. Add boiling water and salt; mix thoroughly. Add beaten egg. Alternately add flour and yeast mixture. Cover and leave inside refrigerator overnight.When ready to make rolls, knead flour and roll out dough. Cut with a biscuit cutter. Dip in butter which has been melted and cooled. Fold over for pocketbook rolls. Let rise about 2 1/2 hours. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
