Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 1 Tbsp
- bay leaf - 1/2 item
- grated cheese - 1/2 c
- rice - 1 c
- sliced onion - 1 item
- pinch of thyme - 1 item
- pinch of cloves - 1 item
- soup - 4 c
How to make risotto:
Lightly brown rice and onion in shortening. Bring soup to a boil. Add rice, onion, bay leaf, cloves and thyme. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook, covered, on low heat until rice is tender. Add cheese just before serving. Serve with chicken.Recipe categories: Main dish, Pasta, rice and grains, Rice.
