Risotto
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 item
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1 item
- chicken broth - 4 c
- rice
- small can tomato paste - 1 item
- ground round - 1 lb
- chopped mushrooms - 1/2 c
- shredded cheese of your choice - 1/2 c
- or 4 green onions, finely chopped - 3 item
- pinch of saffron or turmeric - 1 item
- dry white wine or beef broth - 1/4 c
How to make risotto:
In frypan, brown meat and drain. Add tomato paste, sugar, salt, pepper; mix. In separate pan melt margarine, add rice and onion. Coat thoroughly stirring with wooden spoon until yellow and add wine or 1/4 cup broth until absorbed. Lower heat and stir in all remaining ingredients. Place in Pam sprayed casserole and bake about 1 hour at 350°. This is a popular church supper dish. Also excellent stuffing for peppers.Recipe categories: Main dish, Pasta, rice and grains, Rice.
