Ingredients/Components

  • Jell-O green, red, lemon and orange - 4 pkg
  • Knox gelatine - 2 pkg
  • cold water - 1/2 c
  • milk - 2 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • sour cream - 1 pt
  • vanilla - 2 tsp

How to make ribbon salad:

Prepare 4 Jell-O's, each in 1 cup boiling water and 1/2 cup cold water. Dissolve Knox gelatine in 1/2 cup cold water. Bring milk to boil; remove from stove. Stir in sugar. Add Knox gelatine. Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Blend with mixer; do not overbeat.

Place green Jell-O in 9 x 13-inch pan. When set, pour 1 1/2 cups white mixture over. Alternate colored Jell-O and white mixture. Let each layer set. If Jell-O or white mixture begins to thicken too soon, set in a pan of warm water.
