  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 4 Tbsp
  • butter - 2 tsp
  • water - 2 c
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • shortening - 4 Tbsp
  • drops red food coloring - 4 item
  • diced rhubarb or apples - 2 c

How to make rhubarb rolls:

Dough:2 c. flour4 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp. salt4 Tbsp. shortening3/4 c. milk2 Tbsp. sugar Cinnamon Mixture:1 c. sugar2 Tbsp. butter1/2 tsp. cinnamon2 c. diced rhubarb or apples Vanilla Sauce: Combine sugar, flour, water, butter and vanilla to make sauce. Cook until clear, then add food coloring.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, shortening, milk and sugar. Mix and roll out on floured surface.

Mix together sugar, butter, cinnamon and rhubarb. Spread out on dough. Roll up and cut as you would cinnamon rolls. Place in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Pour Vanilla Sauce over rolls. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes about 15 rolls.
