Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- sugar
- flour - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- sour milk or buttermilk - 1 c
- rhubarb
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
How to make rhubarb coffee cake:
Topping:1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon Blend the first 4 ingredients. Add the soda, vanilla, salt and sour milk or buttermilk. Fold in the rhubarb.Topping: Combine. Add to top of mixture. Bake for 45 minutes at 350° in a 9 x 13-inch pan, or for 30 minutes on a cookie sheet.
