Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • brown sugar - 1/4 c
  • butter
  • baking powder
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • sifted flour - 2 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • strawberry jello - 1 pkg
  • rhubarb and strawberries - 6 c

How to make rhubarb cake:

Topping:6 Tbsp. butter1 1/2 c. sugar1/2 c. flour Mix dry ingredients as for pie dough. Add beaten egg and milk. Mix thoroughly and press into a 9 x 13-inch pan. Pour over crust the rhubarb and strawberries. Sprinkle with dry jello. Combine butter, sugar and flour for streusel. Spread over fruit. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.
