- salt - 1/4 tsp
- confectioners sugar
- dash of salt - 1 item
- Crisco
- cake flour - 3 c
- bottle red food coloring - 1 item
How to make red velvet pound cake:
Frosting:1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened1 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. vanilla2 1/2 c. confectioners sugar dash of salt Mix sugar and Crisco (2 minutes) until mixed well. Add eggs one at a time; beat. Then add flour with milk, alternately. Add vanilla and coloring last. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes.Frosting: Blend milk, vanilla, salt and cream cheese. Gradually add sugar, beating until frosting is smooth. Add small amounts of milk for spreading consistency if necessary.
