- flour - 6 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 3 Tbsp
- sticks margarine - 3 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- French vanilla cake mix - 1 item
- red food color - 1 oz
- butter flavor - 1 tsp
- box French vanilla pudding - 1 item
- whole eggs or 4 egg whites - 2 item
- Mix water, food color and add to dry ingredients
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix cake mix, pudding, cocoa, soda and baking powder. Mix water, food color and add to dry ingredients. Last, add buttermilk, eggs, butter flavor and vanilla. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° until done. Frost with Red Velvet Cake Frosting.Red Velvet Cake Frosting:1 1/2 c. milk1/2 tsp. salt6 Tbsp. flour3 sticks margarine1 tsp. vanilla1 1/2 c. granulated sugar Cook milk, salt and flour slowly until thick, stirring constantly. Cool thoroughly. Cream margarine, vanilla and sugar until fluffy; add cooled mixture and beat well. Frosting looks like whipped cream.
