Ingredients/Components
- plain flour
- sugar
- vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- cocoa - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
How to make red velvet cake:
Add vinegar over soda, set aside. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together. Make paste with food coloring and cocoa. Then add to cream mixture. Then add flour, vanilla, salt and buttermilk.
