Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- self-rising flour - 2 c
- pecans - 1 c
- Wesson oil - 1 c
- bottle red food color - 1 oz
How to make red velvet cake:
Frosting:1/4 c. flour1 c. milk1 c. Wesson oil1 c. sugar1/4 tsp. salt1 c. pecans1 c. coconut Cream first 4 ingredients. Add dry ingredients, sifted together; alternate with buttermilk. Makes a 3 layer cake. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes until done. Let cool; put frosting between layers. You have to be careful if you decide to frost sides, frosting drizzles.Frosting: Cook flour and milk until it makes a paste. Let it cool; then add the rest of ingredients. Mix well and frost cooled cake.
