Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- stick butter - 1 item
- plain flour
- hot water - 1 Tbsp
- plus 1 tsp - 1 c
- bottles red food coloring - 2 oz
- Then add red food coloring and cocoa
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix Crisco, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Then add red food coloring and cocoa. Next, add flour, buttermilk and salt. In a small cup, mix water, vinegar and soda, then add to cake mixture and mix well. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan or 3 small round pans.
