Ingredients/Components
- plain flour
- buttermilk - 1 c
- sugar - 2 c
- oil - 2 c
- whole eggs - 3 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 tsp
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- bottles red food coloring - 2 oz
- Sift flour, soda and salt
- pkg - 1 oz
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- chopped nuts - 1 c
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream the sugar and oil; beat well. Sift flour, soda and salt. Mix cocoa and red coloring. Add vinegar; mix well. Add eggs, beating hard after each. Add flour mixture, milk and vanilla to beater. Beat until blended. Pour into three greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Frosting:1 stick oleo1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box powdered sugar vanilla1 c. chopped nuts Combine the oleo, cream cheese and powdered sugar. Add vanilla and chopped nuts.This is a good recipe.
