  • red food coloring - 1 oz
  • water - 1 oz
  • cocoa - 3 Tbsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • sugar
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • oil
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • vinegar - 1 tsp
  • cake flour
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • Mix eggs, sugar, buttermilk, oil, vanilla and vinegar
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • powdered sugar
  • milk - 3 Tbsp

How to make red velvet cake:

Mix food coloring, water and cocoa. Mix eggs, sugar, buttermilk, oil, vanilla and vinegar. Add cocoa mixture, mixing well. Add flour and soda; mix well. Pour into 2 buttered and floured 9-inch baking pans. Bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes.Frosting:8 oz. cream cheese1/2 c. butter1 1/2 lb. powdered sugar2 tsp. vanilla3 Tbsp. milk Cream together cream cheese and butter. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Frost cake.
