  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 Tbsp
  • pkg - 2 oz
  • chopped nuts - 2 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • vinegar - 2 Tbsp
  • cooking oil - 1 c
  • red food coloring - 4 oz
  • chocolate - 2 Tbsp
  • self-rising flour, sifted - 3 c
  • box confectioners sugar, sifted - 1 oz
  • Frosting:1 stick oleo

How to make red velvet cake:

Frosting:1 stick oleo1 Tbsp. vanilla2 c. chopped nuts2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 (16 oz.) box confectioners sugar, sifted Cream the sugar and oil. Add eggs and beat well. Add vinegar and food coloring and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and alternate with milk and vanilla. Beat well. Pour in cake pan and bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool before icing.
