Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- oil - 3/4 c
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Blend well
- bottle red food coloring - 1 oz
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix sugar, cocoa, oil and eggs. Blend well. Add red coloring, buttermilk, vinegar and vanilla. Mix well. Add 1 cup flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Mix well. Add last cup of flour and mix for about 2 minutes. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until cake springs back. Combine milk and sugar. Pour over hot cake. Cool before frosting with the Red Velvet Cream Cheese Frosting.Red Velvet Cream Cheese Frosting:1 stick butter1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box powdered sugar Have cream cheese at room temperature.
