Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 6 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- Crisco
- red food coloring - 1 oz
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix ingredients in this order: Crisco and sugar, then eggs, salt, food coloring, flour and milk alternately. Then add vanilla. Beat continuously while adding ingredients.To make White Velvet Cake, omit color and add 2 tablespoons more milk. Bake in a tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
