- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- red food coloring - 1 tsp
- 1/2 sticks butter - 1 item
- small bottle red food coloring - 1 item
How to make red velvet cake:
Red Velvet Icing:1 1/2 c. milk1/2 c. flour pinch of salt1 c. Crisco1 1/2 c. sugar1 1/2 tsp. vanilla1 1/2 sticks butter1 tsp. red food coloring Mix together all ingredients and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Icing: Cook milk and flour in pot until thick and add salt while hot; let cool. Beat at a high speed until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients, cooled flour and milk. Beat for about 10 or 15 minutes until fluffy. Frost cake.
