Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cream cheese - 10 oz
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- oil
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 1 lb
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts optional
- self-rising flour
- white vinegar - 1 tsp
- bottles red food coloring - 2 item
- Set aside
How to make red velvet cake:
Sift together flour, baking soda and cocoa. Set aside. Cream together eggs and sugar and add oil, butter, milk, vinegar and red food coloring. Add dry ingredients slowly until all dry ingredients are incorporated. Stir in vanilla. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until cake springs back when touched.Frosting for Red Velvet Cake (Cream Cheese Frosting):1 1/2 sticks butter10 oz. cream cheese1 lb. confectioners sugar1 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional) Cream butter and cheese.
