Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- 1/2 cups sugar - 1 item
- cup buttermilk - 1 item
- cup Crisco - 1/2 item
- 1/2 cups cake flour - 2 item
- cup red food coloring - 1/4 item
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix food coloring and chocolate to make a paste. Cream Crisco and sugar. Add eggs. Mix. Add paste mixture. Sift dry ingredients together. Add buttermilk and vanilla. Mix real good. Bake 350 degrees 25 - 30 minutes or until done. Use three 8 inch pans.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, American.
