- head of red cabbage - 3 4
- to 4 apples, skinned and sliced - 3 item
- salt, sugar, vinegar - 1 item
- to 4 whole cloves, ground - 3 item
- to 2 whole allspice, ground - 1 item
How to make red cabbage:
Clean and chop red cabbage. Heat oil in large pan over medium heat and add cabbage and onion. Stir to coat cabbage. Add about 1/2 to 1/3 cups water and 2 to 3 tablespoons vinegar. Add the apples and spices; stir. Cover to let steam 70 to 90 minutes. Taste for salt, sugar and more vinegar.Recipe categories: Low protein, Side dish, Vegetables.
