  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • sifted flour - 2 c
  • allspice - 1/4 tsp
  • apples, chopped and peeled - 4 c
  • Sift dry ingredients and add to cream mixture

How to make raw apple cake:

Cream shortening and sugar, beat well; add eggs and beat. Sift dry ingredients and add to cream mixture. Add apples and nuts. Batter will be real stiff. Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes. When cool, spread with topping.Topping:1/3 c. oleo or butter3/4 c. brown sugar1/3 c. milk1 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Put oleo or butter in saucepan, stir in brown sugar. Cook and stir over low heat for 2 minutes. Add milk and continue stirring until boiling, remove from heat and cool to lukewarm. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat and spread on cake.
