Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- soda - 1/3 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- melted shortening - 1/4 c
- yeast - 1 cake
How to make ranch biscuits:
Melt shortening; let cool. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water (not hot). Mix all dry ingredients together, then add all the liquids to form dough. Roll out on floured surface; cut with a large biscuit cutter. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 400° until brown. Can be dotted with butter.
