Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/3 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 2/3 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • raisins - 1/3 c
  • cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp

How to make raisin scones:

Mix together ingredients. Knead lightly and pat down onto a floured board into a 3/4-inch thick circle. Cut into 8 wedges and place individually on a cookie sheet. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes until lightly browned. Serve warm with butter and homemade jam.
