Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- hot water - 2 c
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- seedless raisins - 2 c
- lemon or orange extract - 1 tsp
How to make raisin pie:
Mix sugar and cornstarch; combine with water, raisins and salt; cook until thickened. Add butter, lemon juice and extract. Cool slightly and pour into pastry lined pie pan and top with pastry, plain or latticed. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, reduce to 375° and continue baking for 25 to 30 minutes.
