  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour with 1 1/2 tsp - 3 c
  • milk - 2 Tbsp
  • Filling:1 box raisins
  • flour - 3 Tbsp

How to make raisin bars:

Filling:1 box raisins1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla3 Tbsp. flour Mix ingredients to make dough soft enough to divide and roll out with a smooth water glass to fit a floured cookie pan of good size.

To make filling, boil 1 box seeded raisins in water to cover. Add 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and thicken with 3 tablespoons flour. After cooking, pour onto cookie sheet with the first dough under it. Roll out other half of dough on wax paper large enough to cover. Flip or turn it over the raisins and peel wax paper off very carefully. Bake 30 minutes, until light brown or done at 375°. Cut in small squares.
