Quick cinnamon rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 3/4 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter
- confectioners sugar
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- melted butter - 1/4 c
- shortening - 1/3 c
- hot water - 1 2
- sugar brown or white - 1/2 c
How to make quick cinnamon rolls:
Glaze (if desired):1 c. confectioners sugar2 1/2 Tbsp. butter3/4 tsp. vanilla1 to 2 Tbsp. hot water Combine the first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Cut in the shortening until mixture looks like cornmeal. Add the milk. Stir until mixture forms a ball in center of bowl. Place on floured board; knead 5 or 6 times. Roll out in a 10 x 15-inch rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with a mixture of the sugar and cinnamon. Roll in jelly roll fashion. Pinch edge to seal. Slice in 3/4-inch pieces. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.Glaze: Combine all ingredients and glaze rolls, if desired.
These rolls may be cooked in muffin pans which have had 1 tablespoon butter (melted), 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1 teaspoon nuts in bottom of cup. Place rolls in cups and bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes. Turn out at once. Scrape sticky topping on rolls.
