Quick cherry dessert
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 4 item
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- can cherry pie filling - 1 oz
- powdered sugar to dust over top, optional - 1 item
How to make quick cherry dessert:
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs. Beat until light and fluffy. Add the almond extract. Stir in flour and baking powder. Mix until smooth.Butter a 13 x 9-inch cake pan. Turn the batter mixture into the pan. Spoon the pie filling into the cake, in 16 spots, spacing 4 spoonfuls evenly in each direction. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden and cake tests done.
Serve bottom side up. Dust with powdered sugar. Great served warm.
