- sugar - 3/4 c
- dry mustard - 1/4 tsp
- white vinegar - 3/4 c
- mustard seed - 1 tsp
- turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- sliced cucumbers - 2 qt
- sliced onions - 2 item
How to make quick bread and butter pickles:
Peel figs and weigh them. To each 6 pounds of fruit, add 5 pounds of sugar and 4 lemons. Wash the lemons and cut in thin slices, removing the seeds. If the flavor of the rind is objectionable, use only juice. Add sugar and make syrup before adding the figs.
