  • chopped dates - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 c
  • beaten egg - 1 item
  • sifted flour
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • butter - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • Let stand while the remaining ingredients are being mixed
  • cream - 5 tsp

How to make queen elizabeth cake:

Pour the boiling water over the dates and soda. Let stand while the remaining ingredients are being mixed. Add mixture to the first mixture. Bake in a moderate oven (360°) for 35 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.Icing:5 tsp. brown sugar2 tsp. butter5
