- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- chopped dates - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- beaten egg - 1 item
- sifted all-purpose flour
- black walnuts - 1/2 c
- canned milk - 10 Tbsp
- Let stand while other ingredients are mixed
How to make queen elizabeth cake:
Pour boiling water over dates and soda. Let stand while other ingredients are mixed. Add to date mixture and bake at 350° for 35 minutes in a 9 x 12-inch pan.Icing for Queen Elizabeth Cake:10 Tbsp. brown sugar10 Tbsp. canned milk4 Tbsp. butter Boil 3 minutes.
