Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour
• butter - 1/4 c
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• boiling water - 1 c
• nuts - 1/2 c
• cream - 5 Tbsp
• dates, chopped - 1 c
• egg, beaten - 1 item
• Let stand while mixing remaining ingredients

How to make queen elizabeth cake:

Pour water over soda and dates. Let stand while mixing remaining ingredients. Add date mixture to batter, stirring well, and pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Icing For Cake:5 Tbsp. brown sugar5 Tbsp. cream2 Tbsp. butter Mix all together and boil for 3 minutes. Spread over cake and top with nuts and coconut.
