- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/4 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- nuts - 1/2 c
- cream - 5 Tbsp
- dates, chopped - 1 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- Let stand while mixing remaining ingredients
How to make queen elizabeth cake:
Pour water over soda and dates. Let stand while mixing remaining ingredients. Add date mixture to batter, stirring well, and pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Icing For Cake:5 Tbsp. brown sugar5 Tbsp. cream2 Tbsp. butter Mix all together and boil for 3 minutes.
