Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- water - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- butter, softened - 1/4 c
- pumpkin* - 2 c
- brown sugar - 4 c
How to make pumpkin nut bread:
*Cut up medium pumpkin into small pieces and cook in a large pot with water and brown sugar until soft. Scrape pumpkin from shell and puree in blender.Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices. Add pumpkin, sugar, milk, eggs and butter. Mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour in well-greased loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Bread may be frozen.
