Pumpkin meringue pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- milk
- flour - 1/3 c
- egg yolks - 3 item
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- pumpkin - 1 c
- nuts - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- allspice - 1/2 tsp
- baked pie shell - 1 item
- Add milk, then yolks and pumpkin, stirring until creamy
How to make pumpkin meringue pie:
Blend dry ingredients in top of double boiler. Add milk, then yolks and pumpkin, stirring until creamy. Cook 20 minutes. Pour into shell. Top with meringue.Meringue:3 egg whites dash of salt1/3 c. sugar1/2 c. nuts. chopped Beat egg whites until stiff and satiny. Spread on top of pie. Sprinkle with nuts.
