Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 4 item
- salt
- chopped nuts - 2/3 c
- water - 2/3 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- all-purpose flour
- raisins - 2/3 c
- ground cloves - 1 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- can pumpkin - 1 oz
How to make pumpkin bread:
Heat oven to 350°. Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans, 9 x 5 x 3-inch.Mix shortening and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs, pumpkin and water. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in nuts and raisins.
Pour into pans. Bake until a wooden pick, inserted in center, comes out clean, about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pans. Cool completely before slicing.
