  • oil - 1 c
  • sugar
  • eggs - 3 item
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • plain flour - 2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • cooked prunes or 1 c - 1 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • Sift dry ingredients together and mix alternately with the wet mixture
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • sticks butter - 2 item
  • white syrup - 2 Tbsp

How to make prune cake:

Mix sugar, oil and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and mix alternately with the wet mixture. Add prunes, nuts and vanilla. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.Glaze:2 c. sugar1 tsp. baking soda2 sticks butter1 c. buttermilk2 Tbsp. white syrup2 tsp. vanilla Mix all together; boil 1 minute. Pour over cake.
