- light Karo - 2 Tbsp
- cooked, pitted prunes
- Cream oil, eggs and sugar Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk
How to make prune cake:
Mix dry ingredients; set aside. Cream oil, eggs and sugar Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Stir in nuts. Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan, plus a 9-inch square pan, that have been greased and floured. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Sauce:1 1/2 c. sugar1/2 c. butter2 Tbsp. light Karo3/4 tsp. soda3/4 c. buttermilk1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Bring to a boil and let cook 5 to 10 minutes while cake is baking.
