Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • wesson oil - 3/4 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • self-rising flour - 2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • cooked prunes - 1 c
  • shopped nuts - 1 c
  • Add prunes and nuts, mix well
  • white Karo syrup - 1 Tbsp
  • stick butter - 1 item

How to make prune cake:

Sift dry ingredients and mix with liquid. Add prunes and nuts, mix well. Pour into Bundt pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 5 minutes.Glaze:1 c. sugar1/2 c. buttermilk1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup1 stick butter1 tsp. vanilla Mix and bring to hard boil. Pour over cake while hot.
