- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- warm water - 1/4 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 5 c
- egg unbeaten - 1 item
- milk, scalded
- four - 1 Tbsp
- active dry or cake yeast - 1 pkg
How to make pretzels:
About 3 hours before serving, melt butter in scalded milk; in large bowl, let milk cool to lukewarm. Sift together 5 cups flour, salt and sugar.
