- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- light corn syrup - 3/4 c
- pecans - 3 c
How to make pralines:
Combine sugar, soda, salt, buttermilk and syrup; bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat, stirring often until mixture reaches soft ball stage (234°). Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and pecans. Stir until mixture loses its gloss and can be dropped easily from a spoon on a well buttered piece of wax paper. If mixture becomes thick, heat a few minutes and continue to drop.Recipe categories: Desserts, Fruit, Candy.
