  • stick butter - 1 item
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • Crisco - 1/3 c
  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • sweet milk - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp

How to make pound cake:

Grease and flour well a 10-cup tube pan. Cream butter, margarine and Crisco for about 4 minutes. Add sugar, 1 cup at a time, and cream about 4 minutes each. Add eggs, 1 at a time, just until yellow disappears. Add flour, 1 cup at a time, alternately with milk. Add vanilla and nutmeg. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325° or until cake is done.
