Ingredients/Components
- butter - 3/4 lb
- confectioners sugar - 1 lb
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- eggs - 6 item
- confectioners sugar box all-purpose flour level; do not shake down - 1 item
- mace - 1/2 tsp
How to make pound cake:
Have butter and eggs at room temperature. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (in mixer). Add vanilla and mace. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add flour and mix only until blended. Put into a buttered and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake in moderate oven at 325° for about 1 1/2 hours. Let stand in pan 5 minutes. Turn out to cool.For frosting, mix 1 cup confectioners sugar with enough milk to make glaze consistency. Decorate with candied glazed fruit.
