Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • butter - 1/2 lb
  • water - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp

How to make pound cake:

Cream butter thoroughly. Add sugar; cream. Add eggs, one at a time, beating for 2 minutes per egg. Add water. Add flour, baking powder and vanilla. Bake in a well-greased tube pan on top shelf at 325° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
