Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 6 item
  • evaporated milk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Crisco - 1 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • orange extract - 1 tsp
  • lemon extract - 1 tsp
  • plain flour, sifted - 4 c

How to make pound cake:

Cream sugar and shortening. Add one egg at a time and beat well after each addition. Add flavorings. Add sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Bake in greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours in preheated oven. Do not open oven door while baking.
