Poultry dressing
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- butter - 1 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped celery - 1 c
- minced onion - 3/4 c
- thyme - 1 tsp
- crushed sage
- soft bread cubes - 9 c
- chicken broth as needed - 1 item
- cooked giblets, chopped - 1 item
How to make poultry dressing:
In large skillet, cook and stir onion and celery in butter until tender. Stir in about 1/3 of bread cubes. Turn into deep bowl. Add remaining ingredients and toss. Use enough broth for moist feel to dressing.Stuff poultry just before roasting. Dressing can be baked in covered pan for 30 minutes at 350°. This recipe makes enough for a 12-pound turkey.
