Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1 c
- egg yolks - 3 item
- chopped dates
- egg whites - 3 item
- warm water - 1/4 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
- ground walnuts - 1/2 c
How to make potica:
Filling:1/2 c. chopped dates1/2 c. ground walnuts3 Tbsp. sugar1/4 c. milk3 egg whites1 tsp. cinnamon1 c. sugar Dough: Cut butter into flour. Mix water and yeast. Combine rest of ingredients for dough. Mix together. Cover; chill overnight. Divide dough into two parts. Roll each into a 20-inch square on lightly floured table.Filling: Mix dates, walnuts, 3 tablespoons sugar and 1/4 cup milk; cook until pasty. Fold in egg whites (beaten stiff) with cinnamon and 1 cup sugar. Spread filling over entire dough surface; roll like jelly roll. Place into greased tube pan, one roll on top of other. Let rise 1 hour. Bake for 1 hour at 350°.
